• Cucurbita pepo — classic courgette introduced in the 1920s and still one of the most reliable and best-flavoured varieties

• Deep glossy green fruits with fine, tender flesh and a rich, traditional flavour

• Compact, high-yielding plants that produce steadily through the summer

• Excellent eaten young or allowed to grow larger for grating, roasting, or baking

• Early to mature and tolerant of cooler conditions, making it a dependable choice for most climates

• Harvest regularly to encourage continuous cropping

• Sow indoors: April–May | Plant out: late May–June | Harvest: July–September
