Description
A traditional Italian paste tomato, Scatolone is valued for its long, cylindrical fruits and rich, meaty flesh. Similar in form to San Marzano but often larger, it produces heavy crops of deep red tomatoes with excellent flavour and very low water content.
This heritage variety is especially prized for sauces and preserving, where its dense flesh cooks down into a thick, aromatic passata.
